  • Imagine if my Cooper S had been out of warranty! If I knew that my Mini had a big problem why didn't the experts spot it? I am more than willing to post the recepit for all the work done to my car should anyone request it...

  • OK, here we go..

After my Mini was seen by several MINI (BMW) dealers (Blue Bell Wilmslow) (Derek Woodman, Blackpool) Eventually I was advised that this noise was a charictaristic of the engine. Said Chief Engineer for David Holmes, Stockport,. Even after veiwing the video I made of the fault: "It depends on which phase the engine started on"! My R56 MCS engine seized up and had to be replaced at a dealer price of £7000 GBP!

  • my 07 cooper s has the same problem - the rattling noises, cold start. i have 33k on mine and is under warranty. is that covered under warranty? what should i do?! help!

@thecurraghsons: can i please see the receipts? edarlan@yahoo.com. thanks!

  • Another consideration is poor oil pressure during start up which is allowing the wrist pin bushing to wear or not be properly oiled. This will result in engine failure

  • Kettenspanner

  • it is normal :-D

The reason it sounds like a diesel engine is that there isn't mutch difference any more ... the mcs has a turbo and direct fule injecktion and magnetic ventiles (I hope you understand my english^^) wich make it sound like a diesel on a cold day :)

I got a 1 year warrenty from BMW on my used MCS, so no reason to worry^^

  • im looking to buy a certified MINI S with 9500 US miles. it sounds the same and it is certified at the Mini dealership, Would you buy it or not? thanks! ;(

  • sounds like a diesel engine! its not normal..
