I love Dub Taylor...he always stands out in shows!

@Doublefeature56 I remember that interview, he did make Cosby look like a fool! I was with Dub once at an airport where we ran into George Peppard, who was aloof with him. As we left, Dub said in a loud voice "You know the difference tween us and him? We's all pigshit, its just that we know it and he don't!" God, how I loved that man!

@Teflon65 Yep, in fact my folks made two movies starring them together, Beartooth and Doc Hooker's Bunch. They were as different as peas in a pod, but had great respect for one another.

I also know Bud Geary, I.Stanford Jolley, LeRoy Mason, Art Mix,Peggy Sterling, and Jennifer Holt when I see them.

I'm 49 years old and I knew his name and face. I know Ben Johnson,Smiley Burnette,Roy Barcroft,Tom London,Bud Osborne,Charles King,Fuzzy St.John, Al Bridge,Forest Taylor,Kenne Duncan,and many others by their names from the old westerns.

Another aspect of Dub Taylor that is usually not known or overlooked is the fact he was a world class player of the xylophone. One of the greatest ever I believe.

Sad to say, Dixie Carter (not the TNA wrestling personality, but the lady in red) passed away last year.

Dub Taylor . . . if there was a western or rural themed TV show between the 1950s and the 1980s, he was in it at one time or another. Damn, that man did a ton of work!
-
I didn't know Dub Taylor was Buck Taylor's father. I've enjoyed seeing both of them in various things, but I admit that I didn't really know who Dub Taylor was.

Dub Taylor was at his absolute career best one night on the tonight show. It was probebly about 1988. Bill Cosby was guest host. Dub went off on Cosby and there was no way that Cosby could keep with him.... "Bill, you're a mess" totally dropped me that night....... Cosby was speachless and completely out of his league.
Are you sure he was in a Hush Puppies commercial? I haven't heard about that one, though I've got clips of his multiple "Hubba-Bubba Gumfighter" commercials. And, of course, there's the Pace picante "New York City????" commercials.
