Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce are the best to play Holmes and Watson!!! I love these movies! They used to come on late at night when I was a kid before cable tv. Those were the days...

I just found this great channel. For years I've been trying to find the 1934 version of The Lemon Drop Kid starring Lee Tracy. Any chance you have that available for upload? I know it's a long shot since it's never been released on VHS or DVD but I figured it doesn't hurt to ask. Thanks.

Excellent film. Hillary Brooke is delightfully sinister.

Agreed--I'm struck by Moriarty's constant recreation of Conan Doyle's "fall" from the Reichenbach cascades so many times in this series (Holmes also fakes his own death that way in "Spider Woman")--presumably it was easier to bring the character back yet again? Henry Daniell is an excellent Moriarty here, a real cold fish anticipating "the moment" of Holmes' death. Which, as usual, never comes. Bravo to director Neill for bathing the scene in shadowy atmosphere. Thanks for sharing this!

The thing that always made me laughed with the Rathbone/Bruce Holmes movies is that Dr. Moriarty's death was ALWAYS the same - he falls to his death: balconies, Tower of London, down a trapdoor, etc.
