  • Umpires looked way cooler back then.

That is versatility, that is called talent. As Viv Richards said "I think he will fit in whatever category of Cricket that has been played or will be played, from the first ball that has ever been bowled to the last ball that's going to be. He can play in any era and at any level."

  • @sanjay49700

Yes, but they are so old I have almost forgotten.

I remember the shoulder before wicket though :)

One exceptional thing about Tendulkar is that when he started his career, strike rate of a batsman was not even calculated! In 1989, 4 runs/over in an ODI was considered difficult to chase. Nowadays even 7 runs/over are chased. He didn't look out of place then, he can play according to the pace of today's game. His early centuries were at a strike rate of 75-90. Now he scores @100+ !

  • @lokenath123 you are right. remember the 97 SA series. his dismissal by bacher/gibbs at the boundary an jonty at point must rank as two of the best catches in late 90's. everyobe knows what sort of decisions he got in 99 Aus series. what is little understood is how c'paul was used to frustrate tendulkar in 97 WI series. bowling outside his leg stump, the kin which will be called wide in tests these days.and always the fielders and bowlers give their max when he is playing but that is expected

  • @123shyda yes. and he should have averaged 20 in ODI and 28 in tests.

  • @123shyda

I would rather say the opposite. He has been out to some of the best deliveries/catches/howlers of decisions.

Actually he has played the most number of flawless innings.

  • @robelinda2 can u upload any video from the 1987 wc?

  • @karrrthik jadeja was suffering a hamstring injury

  • not his best, not by any means

  • any game you watch of tendulkar, He might have been dropped once or twice. Always lucky
