Theres also worse ways to torture people... For one they could shove needles under his finger-nails, if that doesn't work, break each finger one by one, if that doesn't work, a couple blows to the head with a hammer, if that doesn't work, put burning coals in his mouth, and if ALL that doesn't work, tie him down and put his head under a dripping faucet for 24 hours and repeat the process... Pffeh, amateurs.

@ironmauro2 If it does not help then you are not using enough. Violence is part of the natural order. Look at nature everything competes, attempts to kill others for food. Even plants will attempt to over grow each other, and starve them of their needed sun light, or choke away their resources. Welcome to the real world kid.
