Let's pay a visit to my favourite museum and share an experience unlike any other.

The Newseum — a 250,000-square-foot museum of news — offers visitors an experience that blends five centuries of news history with up-to-the-second technology and hands-on exhibits.

The Newseum is located at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Sixth Street, N.W., Washington, D.C., on America's Main Street between the White House and the U.S. Capitol and adjacent to the Smithsonian museums on the National Mall.

The exterior's unique architectural features include a 74-foot-high marble engraving of the First Amendment and an immense front wall of glass through which passers-by can watch the museum fulfill its mission of providing a forum where the media and the public can gain a better understanding of each other.

The Newseum features seven levels of galleries, theaters, retail spaces and visitor services. It offers a unique environment that takes museumgoers behind the scenes to experience how and why news is made.

  • Thanks! Also, what other places in D.C. have you been too that you liked a lot? :)

  • Awesome city. You are so lucky. Yes check out the Smithsonian Museum and also take a look at the White House and the Capitol Building. If you can I highly recommend Arlington Cemetery just over the border in Virginia and very easy to get to. Very emotional and so much history :)

  • Thank you so much! Perfect! Everything you said was on the itinerary! Thank you so much!

  • I was there yesterday, I didn't see the plate what was the point of the white pickup truck with the TIME sticker on it, and all the bullet holes? Also, I don't know if anyone saw this, but the helmet in the case near the truck with the Jack on it has a WWII German helmet inside it

  • It really is a wonderful place.
