Historic Treasure - Kawaipuna Prejeanʻs last known interview in April, 1992 during the occupation of the Hale o Papa heiau in Halawa Valley (in protest of the H-3 Freeway, which ran through the site). Kawaipuna was a legendary Kanaka Maoli warrior, visionary and diplomat who laid much of the foundation for the Hawaiian Sovereignty/Independence movement. This was his last major battle; he died a few days after this interview on his 49th birthday on April 14, 1992. Video by Naomi Sodetani of Out of the Blue Productions -- Mahalo nui loa!!!
