@xxspliffsmokexx Its all good man,. i do very much agree with you. Bands like nfg definately dont fit in with the bands of the 90's punk scence. But it was driven into kids heads that bands like NFG are punk. Like they have the same attitude as bands like mxpx, fenix tx, but they put out bitchass music, Ill admit i liked nfg when i was in grade 9.  But now my fav bands are: mychildren mybride, august burns red, darkest hour, poison the well, the mars volta, human abstract....con't

@xxspliffsmokexx i went from liking shit like nfg and blink 182, then being introduced to shit like from autumn to ashes in grade 10 and completely getting into post-hardcore. (i really hate labeling bands, but IMO thats what genre the bands i listen to fall under) So that led me astray from the punk scence to be totally honest. Thats why i didnt witness the changes punk went through first hand. lol im so stoned dude, i hope what im saying makes sence, and is coming across how i want it to

@mbphofan Sorry to blast you with so many replies but i hate talking in sound bytes and usually have a lot to say. Like my boys the ents would say dont be hasty. Anyway I feel like im an old man now and I still listen to a lot of the bands I did in my youth that gave me that electric feeling when the music seemed so alive and special and im hostile towards the whole pop punk thing. When i was young we would get high and fight skins and then it turned into a hot topic fashion show.Bitch shit :)

@mbphofan As a kid I lived for the michigan punk ska and hardcore seens. Then something happened. Companies saw they could make a profit off this kids and hot topics popped up everywhere and these crappy pop bands started showing up. The scene became stale and it died off . Jay from hellmouth and the suicide machines wrote a piece on how the music became lame tame and un scary and also hit the nail on the head. Punk rock was never meant for the mall and your parents to like and it ruined it.

@mbphofan Well after that response you seem a decent guy so I dont wanna beef and im guilty of going to but it disgusted more every year after the first few. Brendan kelly wrote an article about it that hit the nail on the head some years ago now. I have beef with bands like nfg and sum 41 and so on it doesnt seem like they did it cuz it was what they wanted to it seems like they popped to sell shit to skater guys girlfriends. @xxspliffsmokexx i do agree with you dude. i used to go to warped solely to see the bands like h20, madball, rancid, nofx, screeching weasel, lagwagon, bouncing souls and so on, so i do have like pretty extensive knowledge on what the industry has turned into. But look at other credible punkrock bands like NUFAN. They sing about love and shit like that. Im just saying that doing what you wanna do, and being "different" and not caring about what ppl think or say is the punk motto. (IMO)
