Kate Bush Vs Utah Saints: Something Good (Original 12" Mix)

I decided to do this video edit of the original 1992 12", to clarify the original inspiration behind the Utah Saints track & as a vehicle to introduce younger youtuber's to Kate Bush's back catalogue.

The track "Something Good" is itself of course, based around a sample of Kate Bush's 1985 Hit "Cloudbusting".

"Cloudbusting" was taken from what is widely recognised as being Kate's best album "Hounds of Love", recorded when she was at her creative peak.

This is the original 1992 12" mix of "Something Good", featuring an extended italio piano breakdown (typical of early 90's produced dance tracks) that was not as prominent in the original 7" mix.

The guy playing the father in the Video (Donald Sutherland), is the real-life father of "Jack Bauer" (Kiefer Sutherland) from the TV show "24".

Yes, the radio edit was created by editing down this mix to create a version for radio. This is Utah Saint's own original full length 1992 club mix.

The radio edit is simply an edited down cut and paste taken from this longer mix, the original full length 1992 UK club mix.

Thanks for putting this up! So many people don't realise where a lot of music and the samples in it come from but hopefully you've got a fair few into, or at least the knowledge of the origins of this one (and indeed the 2008 version)

Im pretty sure I saw this short film at the movies, it was on before Back to future at the Odeon.

"Cludbusting" came out around the same time as "Back To The Future" was showing in cinemas.

It stands to reason that music videos may have been used (as well as cinema advertisments) as a prelude to the main film in UK cinemas in 1985.

I learnt about the original version because the '08 version had " '08" on the end. Whenever a song title has a year on the end, replace it with the word "original" and prepare to marvel at the wonders that YouTube has to offer.
