Everone said I was crazy. I remember this song from when I was a little kid and all my family said they did not know what I was talking about. I have been looking for this song for 20 years.

This is great. I remember Kenny Price from my teenage years, the time when you could understand the words of the songs.

The funny part about this song is that Boone Co., Ky. is one place you had better not be speeding in!

@bumblingblockhead , Not PeeWee Whitewing. It is Lloyd Green. If you want to hear the distinctive sound of PeeWee Whitewing, listen to the original version of 'A Six Pack to Go,' by Hank Thompson.

My brother used to sing this one......he liked the line....Let me tell you boy, it aint not toy.

This was my favorite song when I was 6 year old and the proud owner of my first LP, K-Tel's 20 Great Truck Drivin' Hits.
Thanks for posting.

I would have bet my left foot that Jerry Reed was involved somehow in this recording he was a very prominent guitar player at RCA Nashville at the time this was recorded. I have found nothing to support my theory so far though.

Kenny Price released this song in 1971. His nickname was the Round Mound of Sound due to his height and weight. Kenny Price lived in Florence, Boone County, KY on Miriam Drive for several years, right down the street from my aunt and uncle. My cousin went to school with his son at Boone County High School.
James Kenneth Price is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetary in Erlanger, KY.

This song was actually written about my Grandpaw who was Sherriff and Grandmaw was the Deputy Sherriff of Boone County but was written by Bobby Bobo and sung by Kenny.
