  • Everone said I was crazy. I remember this song from when I was a little kid and all my family said they did not know what I was talking about. I have been looking for this song for 20 years.

  • This is great. I remember Kenny Price from my teenage years, the time when you could understand the words of the songs.

  • @55peterbilt93 jerry reed and kenny price do sound alike. ive never herd of kenny price before till now. if they both sang the same song i bet nobody could tell the diffrence.

  • i remember kenny price on yee haw

  • The funny part about this song is that Boone Co., Ky. is one place you had better not be speeding in!

  • @bumblingblockhead , Not PeeWee Whitewing. It is Lloyd Green. If you want to hear the distinctive sound of PeeWee Whitewing, listen to the original version of 'A Six Pack to Go,' by Hank Thompson.

  • My brother used to sing this one......he liked the line....Let me tell you boy, it aint not toy.

  • @thaysmydaddy: Thank you for mentioning Elson. I used to work with him, He was a great man.

  • again thats my daddy thanks dee for lookin it up omg i love and Elson Smith may he rest in peace

  • this song was written by Frank Marusa and Elson Smith for Kenny Price in 1970 and released in 1971. Frank is my father in law he also is a co writer of the Lil Mother Trucker cd's.

  • i could swear this is jerry reed singing but i have also never heard kenny price before so i will take your word for it. reguardless its a great song from a much better time in music...thanks for posting this and introducing me to a new artist

  • This was my favorite song when I was 6 year old and the proud owner of my first LP, K-Tel's 20 Great Truck Drivin' Hits.

    Thanks for posting.

  • I would have bet my left foot that Jerry Reed was involved somehow in this recording he was a very prominent guitar player at RCA Nashville at the time this was recorded. I have found nothing to support my theory so far though.

  • Kenny Price released this song in 1971. His nickname was the Round Mound of Sound due to his height and weight. Kenny Price lived in Florence, Boone County, KY on Miriam Drive for several years, right down the street from my aunt and uncle. My cousin went to school with his son at Boone County High School.

James Kenneth Price is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetary in Erlanger, KY.

  • This song was actually written about my Grandpaw who was Sherriff and Grandmaw was the Deputy Sherriff of Boone County but was written by Bobby Bobo and sung by Kenny.

  • Hell Yeah... Kick ass song

  • most corrupt bastard since woodrow wilson

  • I always thought this was about Boone County Indiana!

  • hense the reason why I got a speeding ticket going 80 in a 70... those boone county sheriff's......... blah!

  • haha....well the MAJOR of RABBIT HASH (in BOONE COUNTY) is actually a dog...yeppers. Theres also a movie that the Judds starred in featuring Rabbit Hash (Boone County)

Boone County isnt a small county anymore or even a homeboy town though it has a lot of homeboys in it, its the 9th fastest growing county

  • im from boone county and friends with his son

  • I live in Boone Co. KY... love this song and love Boone Co. KY
