  • The most efficient way for governments to make income, is by taking lands and resources from peoples who cannot defend themselves, combined with enslaving these peoples, now you have all the produce and productivity of both the slaves and the land, as your own, governments that practice this over the centuries become Empires.

Nations that had the practice of colonization and or enslavement forced onto them, over the centuries became Third World nations.

  • Moreover, he failed to mention that at the time of the ouster of the president in 1986, the country was producing 95% of its domestic consumption and engage in imports and exports of foodstuffs. Haiti had established a free tarifs system before U.S. govt established one with any other countries. Under the Duvalier regime, education system was working, needed some improvement. The country was function as best it can and then U.S. govt intervened and sent the country into a downward spiral.

  • This gentlemen has fabricated the majority of the information he conveyed in this interview. First, Haiti has never been allowed to function as a real government because of the constant interference from the U.S. govt and the fact that they refused to allow the Haitian people to prosper. Two factors involved, one is based on racism and second they want the natural resources that exists in the country and they are working toward means of legitimizing their rights over the Haitian resources.

  • This is typical convenient misrepresentation of Haiti's history. People like this, privileged white Americans and French (myself included) all beneficiaries of 500 years continuous rape, plundering and exploitation; we removed the first democratically elected president so Haitians can't control their own resources and their lives. We characterize Haiti as randomly ahistorically "cursed" as if it caught a cold or something. It pains me watch this shameful "empathetic" drivel over and over again.

  • Haitians should set up their electronic communication centers through out the island and use them to build the 21st century education system and build alternative energy source, and start building 21st century electric cars and health care vehicles. import from Japan and Korea high speed disaster proved rail connecting all ports. Partner with US/Canada/Mexico labor organizations to import/export manufacturing goods.

  • The U.S acually put Haiti into Struggle and the mess that it is in now.do your research and learn the REAL reason for Haiti's Struggle.

  • I'm not sure public services will help anything. Look at our school system. Look at our government. Sure there needs to be something. I'm not terribly knowledgeable in the area of why a country is poor etc, but it sounds like there is a deeper problem than just no taxes and infrastructure. You have to get at the problem before you just cover it up by trying to solve the symptoms of said problem. The US has education, and though were not poor..we are morally poor.

  • First the french and it s allies, the US and others raped haiti by forcing it to pay reparation to french for winning their war for indepence, then u have the US with their races foreign policity, refusing to recognize haiti and helped isolated haiti for decades, then invated the island then when finally left, they continue to support dictators tha oppress the people, and coup-d etat every time an honest goverment is in power<now it s the IMF and World bank, loans with high interest for haiti to pay

  • Looking at the definition of colonization you are right "Overpopulation, economic distress, social unrest, and religious persecution in the home country may be factors that cause colonization, but imperialism, more or less aggressive humanitarianism, and a desire for adventure or individual improvement are also causes. Colonization may be state policy, or it may be a private project sponsored by chartered corporations or by associations and individuals. Before colonization can be effected,"

  • Napoleon invaded when the slaves declared their freedom following the French declaration of the rights of man during the revolution. The slaves defeated the French armies and then declared independence. Later France forced Haiti to pay a ridiculous indemnification for the loss of slaves and properties, they claimed belonged to the French. ¿Not a French colony?
