  • hi davie just really need to know if jungle cock are worth the money, thanks again,

    Deion

  • Hi Deion

I do like jungle cock on certain flies but to be honest with you the fly that has caught me the most fish and is my favourite is the Willie Gunn and the most popular is the Cascade and these don't have Jungle Cock..

    All the best Davie

  • hi davie

do you use waxed threds? im new to the fly tying and i was thinking of taking so classes do you know where i can get some good classes to help me on my way

    tight lines

    will

  • Hi Will,

I do use waxed threads but as you'll see I wax them more when tying the fly as this will give you extra grip especially at certain points of your fly. Ask around any of the forums and I'm sure they'll know of a club that do classes, what part of the country do you live as I may know of one...

    All the best Davie

  • hi Davie

great fly! How do you get all the jungle cock? Were I am from there is no real jungle cock and if there is it is a lot of money.

    Very well tied fly, perfect

  • Hi Adam (mrflyfishingak),

Some of the best Jungle Cock I have bought is on Ebay from fly-tying-store, he has some really nice capes, if you would like me to have a look at one before you buy,

Send me a link and I'll have a look at it for you..

    Great fly!

  • @mrflyfishingak In many countries Canada is one, it is an illegal product

  • Hi MissGetOnAtree,

It's called Jungle Cock in fly tying but in the bird word it's Jungle Fowl...

    All the best Davie

  • Hello Davie! I've got a question. What kind of a feather is the one with the "eyes"? I know that You say it in the video, but I'm simply not able to understand the word that You say before "....... cock eyes" Thanks for an answer in advance.

  • that's a beautiful fly.

  • Excellent demonstration .......

  • Excellent thanks for the video....

  • Hi outdoorsboy2015,

I'm sure craft fur would work just as well as fox...

    All the best Davie

  • could you use craft fur for the tail instead of the fox fur?

  • just to say, davie u defo no how to tie flies, well done , method very well presented, by the way . i can supply most natural coloured feathers, so if any of u need some, plesase contact me. plus golden an manilistic pheasant 1s. at best prices, i do fly fish , tho dont buy any flies, just tie my own style, an as i keep fowl, pigeon, rabbits, and pheasants, an guinee hen , i have ever endin supply of feathers . thanks again davie u, r an inspairation to all.

  • Hi Kendo,

Give them a call they may have some in the shop but also try Sportfish, or John Norris . If you want to try Franky McPhillips in Ireland I'm sure he may have a good cape or two so it would be worth giving him a shout..

    All the best Davie

  • Excellent fly and amazing to watch a master at work a quick question where can I get the badger hackle tried looking on the GAC website and cant see anything for it

    thanks

    Kendo

  • Hi KILDONNAN,

You could use orange marabou but I would use the tip of the plume as they would last longer than the fibres from futher down the feather..

    All the best Davie

  • Davie,

Would orange marabou be of any use as a tail on this fly to give mobility?

    Mibbes a stupid question.

  • Davie you are the best ! tnx 4 all !

  • Hi sambrew1,

The badger cape I used was a Shannon Saddle which I dyed myself, I bought it from the Glasgow Angling Centre but if you can't find a Shannon then use a Metz grade two or a Keough..

    All the best Davie

  • hi dave, just wondering where you can get hold of the hot orange bager hackle ,other than that thanks for a great vid!

  • Great Vid as always Davie!!
