  • @KrokrX - repost

GSFY - posting endless references you got from searching PubMed about mutations, that you didn't even bother reading, may impress your creationist chums, but it doesn't support your lie that "70% of mutations" are "negative" or "bad"? If you can't quote a statement/research to that effect then you're simply making stuff up, as you so often do Jimmy.

Why do you feel the need to lie to support your 'God'/'Genetic Engineer', and why won't you tell us if he's called 'Jehovah'?

  • @KrokrX - repost of your comment which was flagged by Jimmy and his sock accts

.GSFY - whenever you pontificate on science matters you clearly don't realise that your ignorance literally leaps out from the screen. It's not only your misunderstanding of quite basic concepts but your misuse of scientific terminology, and your desire to perpetually re-define words is simply laughable.

  • @druidic6

People still believe in god for philosophical reasons. They do not need proof just a reason to believe in god, this is why the catholic church as one example accepts Darwinian evolution.

  • @MrTatzer I defend evolution because it's proving more and more to be fact. The more we figure out the more proof we find. I'm taking Biology 105 right now as I work towards my degree and I enjoy things that have proof and evidence over things that do not. I was a christian for most of my life and not one shred of evidence or divine presence had ever been seen. So if you combine history and science one quickly finds a great deal of evidence that god - all gods - are false.

  • @druidic6 Sorry if you misunderstood me - I wasn't saying that you seem to feel superior. But as a matter of fact, many Atheist seem to feel superior. I've read phrases like "religion is for nutcases" thousands of times. And these Atheist often don't see that they indeed defend Evolution like it's their religion.

I know there have been tons of religions - But that doesn't change the fact that moderate christians mostly get along with evolution well.

  • @MrTatzer Are we reading the same thing? Are you blind? I never said I was superior to anyone. Anyway, being from Europe as you are, you should respect history as much as I do if not more so. Hell, you have buildings there older than the United States. Hasn't history shown that there have been thousands of religions before the New Testament? The New Testament parallels the sun worshipers of old. And Jesus wasn't a saint. Mathew 15- "Let disobedient children die the death"

  • @druidic6 I don't know where you live, but over here in western Europe, Christians mostly don't take Genesis as a factual report but as a story filled with metaphors. As long as you know about the Bible's history, Christianity goes rather well with Evolution. Especially since Christianity is rather based on Jesus than on the Old Testament.

I find it quite funny that you assume that am religious because I'm not. I simply don't like people feeling superior to religious people. :)

  • @MrTatzer who's raging? I never said I'm against religion. What I am against is the absence of truth. It seems that religion's beliefs continue to change around every scientific discovery makes. Evolution does indeed contradict Genesis in every way so what you get with discoveries like this is an alteration of one's understanding of Genesis so that it won't challenge a religion that has no evidence. So what are you so afraid of? Would it be so horrible for you to not have a god?

  • @druidic6 Im not saying Evolution is bullshit since it most likely happened (somehow), but sometimes people seem to simply swallow everything that seems to "prove" Evolution in order to tell religious people they are a bunch of idiots."Atheism and Evolution vs. Theists" or something like that... ridiculous. Especially since there is a whole bunch of Theists that have no problem combining faith and science.

Talking about "raging Atheists" ... ;-)

  • @druidic6 Most of the people out there are religious - Do you seriously believe that all of them are illiterate regarding science?

Talking about proven: Have you ever thought about the Chromosome 2? If an indiviual has a fused pair of chromosomes, this indiviual is not able to create offsprings that are capable of reproduction. Since the fused chromosome doesn't have a homologous partner, meiosis won't work properly, thus preventing the creation of new, fully functional gametes.

  • @MrTatzer Yeah, a god creating humans first by creating DNA that is a defective ape gene makes much more sense than humans evolving from an accidental mutation which is proven to happen all the time (though rarely resulting in such a huge change as this did). Theism makes MUCH more sense..... Science trumps religion every time. I just don't have enough room in comments to explain this to you

  • @druidic6 You do know that Theism and Evolution don't necessarily contradict each other?
