Elvis Presley Loving You
Written by Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller. Elvis recorded it in February 1957 at Radio Recorders. It is available on the Loving You soundtrack; and the King of Rock and Roll-Complete 50s Masters, which is where this version is from. An uptempo version of this song was used as the title tune of the film, but this is not that version.

I will spend my whole life through
Loving you, just loving you.
Winter, summer, spring-time, too,
Loving you, loving you.
Makes no difference where I go or what I may do.
You know that I'll always be loving you.
Just you and,
If I'm seen with someone new,
Don't be blue, don't you be blue.
I'll be faithful I'll be true;
Always true, true to you.
There is only one for me, and you know who.
You know that I'll always be loving you.

Loving You was Elvis' second film produced by Hal Wallis and directed by Hal Kanter; it was released in 1957. Co-stars were Lizabeth Scott, Wendell Corey, and Dolores Hart. Elvis' original band members, Scotty Moore, Bill Black, and D. J. Fontana are also in the movie, as well as the Jordanaires. His character was named Deke Rivers, f/k/a Jimmy Tompkins.
The film reached #7 on Variety's weekly list of top-grossing films.

Elvis sang seven songs in Loving You; Got a Lot O' Livin' to Do; Let's Have a Party; (Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear; Hot Dog; Lonesome Cowboy; Mean Woman Blues; and Loving You. Dolores Heart sang Dancing on a Dare, Detour, and The Yellow Rose and Tex Warner's band played Candy Kisses.

Gladys and Vernon Presley were extras in the audience at the Freegate TV broadcast. Gladys can be seen in the fourth row, aisle seat with Vernon seated next to her. Elvis dances down the aisle and stops there during his performance of Got A Lot o' Living To Do.

Elvis received his first on screen kiss from Jana Lund in this movie.

Movie Trivia: Actress Dolores Hart made her film debut in Loving You. She also made King Creole with Elvis, and was in Where the Boy Are. She retired after ten films to become a nun in 1963.

Elvis started dating actress Yvonne Lime on the set of Loving You; she played "Sally" in the film. She was a regular on three TV series-Father Knows Best; The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, and Happy.
