In this work of physical performance Red Moon Rising investigates the question "What is it to be alive?".
Drawing on stories of struggle, fragility and hope, Sketches of Blood is a feast for the senses. Red Moon Rising employs a contemporary performance style which draws primarily from Butoh, an expressionistic dance form that arose in post-WWII Japan. Interested in how this style of performance can be relevant to Australians here and now, Red Moon Rising aims reach its audience on a intimate level.
