Traditional Chinese bamboo flute called the Dzi. Has membrane hole which gives it the unique raspy sound of the Chinese flutes . The membrane hole is the first hole down from the embouchure hole, and is covered by a membrane paper which buzzes when sound is produced - a concept borrowed by the kazoo. Transverse.

  • do you have to have the ends of the flute capped

  • That is just the traditional style. Some of the lower end models are not capped.

  • It looks like you did the same membrane cover as me...a piece of scotch tape :p

  • It is good to see you appreciating Chinese Culture. I play DiZi too.

  • From the end to the mouth piece is hollow bull horn on either side there is a blocking piece inside it towards the back it goes 1/2 inch or less behind the blow hole. this is for anyone else building a dizi.

  • WHAT IS THE SONG CALLED?
