Need more training on that, a god punch sure takes a lot less effort than grappling and avoiding going to the ground...
Again no knees and no elbows just for safety reasons.

  • this is good training. we call this the Chuck Liddell/Randy Couture drill. one guy is chuck and one is randy. chuck is on a mission to sprawl and brawl and randy is all about the takedowns, BUT both need to wear some gloves. you takedown gets 10x easier when you set it up with some punches. here your opponent is just rushing at you with no set up so as soon as he moves you know to sprawl and back up and circle. you know what is coming so it's not realistic.

  • 100% agree, in this case its only beginners training, in a couple of months we ill ad in your excelent suggestion.

    Thanks

  • buen entrenamiento!!

    felicidades.......sigan asi!!

  • a very interesting video! However, in my opinion, one should always avoid the ground, especially if one is fighting someone who prefers the ground (a "grappler"). Hence, a sprawl is not a true counter to a "takedown", as you are also going down. I would say that at 1:10 to 1:17 in this video, that is more of a true takedown defense using boxing. :)

  • the boxer got taken down ever time after 1punch.

  • thats true, unless theyr damn gd at sprawlin

  • I will.

  • I believe you don´t know the meaning of training.

Do you think you can win a fight without knowing how to throw a Punch? And yet you are talking about effectiveness?

If Sprawl and Brawl are not on your combat vocabulary definitely you will never understand the concept of anti clinch.

  • a well trained boxer and has some knowledge of KB Mthai or grappling techs, could easily defeat someone a grappler needs to stay close, easy to counter for a boxer specially an in fighter boxer; a kick or thai boxer throw his kick with tension easy to break if you hit the point of tension( between the patella and the patella tendom, the kick or thai boxer will not be able to move before that, and even if you break your hand trust me the thai or KB will feel more pain
