Janet's body of work is greater than Beyonce's BY FAR! I think TOO often we forget the impact artists have because they arent in Billboard's Top 100 right now. This is the story of Janet's career. To Brother T's point (or rather AGAINST his point), when you have such a successful sibling in the same business it is HARDER to make a name for yourself. Janet in her prime sold MORE than Michael. She is a GODDESS of music who STILL sells out shows. She beats Beyonce in not only QUANTITY but QUALITY!
The first single of any Beyonce Album (execpt for Crazy In Love) it had to grow on me. Dejavu was not cute to me when i first heard it on BET awards and it was like a year after the single was out before i started likin it. When Single Ladies came out i was like "UGH just another Get Me Bodied" Now I LIVE for song lol. All the other singles will already be liked cause you had time to get used to it and grow on you.
@free2rhyme25 This is only the first single Beyonce said it wasnt supposed to be the first single but it leaked. You know Beyonces gonna have another 7 singles to come out on this one album so dont fret.
I love this song. You guys gotta remember she always has an anthem for the ladies and this song is one of them. This song even reminds me of something Destiny's Child would sing for a ladies anthem as well.
Although I never bought a Beyonce album in my life, she definitely got my $1.29 on itunes for this song :)
it's a song you learn to love! in a few weeks with the video (which will be epic; 9 choreographers + legendary director + fierce looks!) and stuff EVERYONE will be jammin' to it.. and then haters can keep on hating!
and the song was produced by the original artist from the sample, so..
Janet MADE the Beyonces. Call me an 80’s baby, but Janet did the girl anthems before and better, flat voiced or not she was clever. Now I like Beyonce, but she has YET to pull a “Velvet Rope." And I’m sorry, but between the two, Beyonce sings mostly via 2nd hand experience if not a broad dance/love song. Janet (pre sex-crazed) put her life into her records and her messages varied which make her artistry richer. Beyonce got game, I’ll give her that. But Girls over Pleasure Principle? Baby-bye...
