  • @Talkingforfree Southern Miss To The Top!!! He's a really fantastic educator and guy. I got to take lessons from him, teach beside him at the camps, and play in his steel pan group Kaiso!. Such a great experience to hang with peeps like him. Nice to meet another USM alum on here!

  • Really nice lesson. You're spot on, Zig did indeed use two hands, I had a chance to see him a few times a couple of years ago when I lived in the bay area. His live drumming is out of this world.

Yep...I marched 4th bass in the Pride of Mississippi drumline 91-92-93. Dr Wooton started in 1992 if I remember right. Great guy...what I really like about him is that he treated us "mere mortals" just like anybody else...no ego at all.

  • @Talkingforfree You bet...studied with him for four and a half years. Such a great guy...he really got my hand technique together. If you ever get the chance to snag a lesson from him, you most definitely should! Are you a USM alum?

  • awesome...love this groove. Just noticed on your page that you're a Southern Miss grad. I'm guessing you did a little studying with Dr Wooton? Love the videos man!
