  • It is so tacky for homos to compare themselves to African-Americans. There is absolutely no comparison.

  • Both African-Americans and homosexuals have experienced persecution based on innate characteristics intrinsic to their being. I'd say that's a pretty big similarity right there...

  • Homosexuality has not been proven to be an innate characteristic. Homosexuality is a behavior that can be controlled by one's own will and can be acted upon by one's own will.

  • Oh? That's news to me. I'm guessing you have credible scientific research to back up your unfounded claims?

  • Homosexuality can be controlled just as sexuality can be controlled. Each person has free will.

  • It's so easy to make claims when you don't have to back them up with evidence.

Sexual *activity* can be controlled - no matter a person's sexuality. *Sexuality* is innate.

  • @Kurzhal09 He's not even the same "kind" of black as the majority of African Americans. His father was Kenyan and his mother was white. Most black Americans are of West African descent, with some white mixed in.

  • Furthermore it is time for the federal government to take action in the issue of gay marriage. Which it probably will if the case makes it to the supreme court. The argument we should let the states decide is ridiculous. Should we have left it up to the states to each pass their own civil rights act? No. Sure states have had the power to define marriage in the past but because this is a civil rights issue the federal government needs to step in.

  • There is a reason our federal and state governments are not direct democracy's. The founders knew that ideological majorities would get what they want and in the process trample upon the rights of minority groups. Prop 8 which restricted rights was passed and prop 19 which would have increased people's rights was voted down. The ballot initiative is flawed.

  • So many people against it are so dumb, saying EVERYONE hates gay.

Whats funny, I doubt MLK would agree with these guys.

  • @MrSinister84 He is half black.

  • @MrSinister84 I agree. It isn't right for African-Americans to continue to have this "woe is me" attitude about everything. That reflects in their culture of economic failure, black marxism, and lack of education. African-Americans generally lack drive and don't tap into the programs or benefits that they already have to get them out of their present situation.

  • @JohnRhyMusican

It is also so tacky for blacks to bitch about slavery, racism and civil rights. Move on, we already have a black president.

  • @MACCAPONE60

Why do u care either way then? Your not gay and no one is forcing u to marry them or taking your right to marry a woman.

  • Possibly, but the fact that it can be controlled says it all. With all of the people in this world who turn gay or turn straight, I think there is no argument that it is an inherent characteristic of a person.
