they still make u pay for this yh right fuck that theres better games for free

There will never be a game like old school UO again ever. If you weren't there you will never understand.
-
Woohoo! My home shard (server) in a video.
Europa is still a fun place to explore. True, the game is dated, looks dire when compared to modern games but UO smashes every other MMO to bits when it comes to depth and gameplay. 13 years and still addicted...

Ones in red are The Vesper Militia, -V-, and purple is The Duchy of Trinsic, DOT. I encourage anybody playing UO to try RP, it's a lot more fun then it seems, and a lot better then trolling and banksitting ^.^

how many times have you typed in to a text box "youve been trolled youve been trolled, you have proboly been told, dont reply to this guy hes just trying to catch a ride" ?

this game is still fantastic. its a shadow of its former self but still pretty incredible. no silly leveling up or treadmill progression and very little grinding. its bad news if you like new MMOs though... i always get sick of the new ones and end up back in UO again =p

I played this game for years back when it first came out and played it for years and left a few years or so after the Second Age before Renaissance.

@phils920 And you clearly didnt read my QUESTION, I made no statement.

@ZombieToaster Obviously you never played it, and if you didn't you shouldn't speak. The only game with this type of freedom is Eve.
Happy 1 year anniversary of your video....huge UO fan here too....peace!

@heymisterderp Wow can't believe it's been a year since I uploaded this! Time is speeding up I swear! Thanks for your comment. UO rules!

So except for the boat battle part. What makes this stand out from every other mmo out there? I dont see it.
Without nostalgia this looks like any mmo to me (except I much prefer these graphics to 3d ones to be honest.)

@ZombieToaster It's hard to explain unless you played it at the time tbh. It had a magic feel to it, largely due to the open nature of the game. There were no quests to do or standard routes to take. You'd take advice from players about the best way to do things and you'd build up networks with fellow players. It just felt like you had so much freedom.

I loved this video so much mainly from your commentary! I was laughing to myself when you were talking about 56k modems and the lag back then which brought back a lot of memories. Thanks for the great vid and for keeping the UO phenomenon alive!
