Aretha Franklin really did love Sam Cooke... it is indeed all in her eyes, especially as she played the gorgeous rendition of "One More Time". There was a Sam Cooke documentary they released and it featured the likes of the "Queen of Soul", Lou Rawls (before he passed), Bobby Womack, Smokey Robinson, etc, and in it, Aretha stated 5 words that still stand out to til this day, "Sam really did send me". May the greatest musician truly rest in peace.

A woman's eyes do NOT lie. Look at Aretha's eyes when she starts to play the piano and says "Something that ahh...." oooowee you can tell she loved her some Sam Cooke...she can't even get her words together at first...lol.
