How to determine if a woman is not self-centered.

Look to see if she is helping or working with people to improve their quality of life. The people cannot be her family or her children. Those two are people that we are obligated to help for the most part. The people cannot be related to her in anyway.

I think ALL humans, not just women, have a tendency to be self-ish. Look at congress and the court system full of coruption; not at the hands of women but of men.

How we extend ourselves to the world around us cannot be gaged by volunteer acts at a shelter, hospital or food bank.

You want to really know if a woman is self-centered? Don't bother looking at another resume; look at how she treats and responds others in her everyday life, even with family. What you see is what you get.

wow. i have not commented on your vids in a while. I agree with you on that one. As women, we all like to promote this idea that we're not self-centered but we can never prove it with you actions. We do tend to just care about ourselves and do the bare minimum to make the men in our lives happy.

Checking to see if a woman doesn't volunteer is not a good gage of character.

How about the struggling people....would you check to see if they are self-centered if they are not volunteering.

Sir, your thinking is a little off You are saying that men are exempt from these expectations because society has taught them to have a mind reguarding of only helping their family, but that women should be more charitable outside the home b/c their job in the home is not as stressful as a man's job.

I'm sorry, but what the hell is wrong with self-centeredness? Every human being is, to some extent, self-centered. What else can you be in order to live and breathe in this world?

And why is it that black women have to be the standard bearer for all the negative traits in our community on these vids? I have yet to hear one smidge of praise for the example black women have set for us throughout our history. We get enough of that crap from all other comers. Come on, man.

because I felt what that line of thinking was doing to my character as a female. I'm teaching my daughters how to be good girls (not perfect, but good)...how to be chosen and how to choose men with a sharp eye and wise mind. I'm teaching them everything I wasn't taught growing up.

I agree to a point. I am going to school now to help others. My children, and other people's children who have Learning Disabilities. But I'm also going to improve mysefl. I've never had the "This is only for me " kind of attitude because I've always wanted to be an assistant to what my husband was bringing to the table and working as a unit. I wasn't taught how to be a good wife...I was told that I needed to prepare for the worse, if a man should leave me and such. I had to flip the script
