  • It was funny when Phyllis copied every word Bobby said. Phyllis is sweet. I love it when people pinch her cheeks and she gives them a soppy smile. She's so innocent! I like Jenny Agutta too. You know you can get this story on a tape, narrated by Jenny Agutta. She has such a soft, classy voice; I could just steal her voicebox and shove it down my own throat!

  • "At least we can burn the evidence..." hahaha

  • @Gillyyorkie Occasionally they have 'Railway Children Weekends' where they re-enact scenes from it at Oakworth - the next one is at the start of May. I've heard that Jenny Agutter still visits from time to time!

  • Cash converters is what they needed ;)

  • "Definitely one of your best works, Michaelangelo!"

  • "Nonsense - I can't afford all that."

One thing I like about the 2000 version as opposed to this is that they do actually look quite poor after moving away, whereas in this version they do still look reasonably well off.

  • My grandparents lived directly opposite Oxenhope station on the KWVR ( was not featured in the film) and so I was brought up with the KWVR to this day when I visit yorkshire i have to take a trip to Oakworth just to see where it all happened.

  • I visited the Keighley railway and saw the places where they filmed the movie. It was an experience not to be forgotten. i saw the pannier tank as well, even though she didn't pull the trains i travelled on.

  • Oh Pete! Pete!

  • lovely...

  • In those days you enjoyed the more simpler things in life and you were grateful for them
