@kotzav I don't think this song was written about the afterlife. Johnny Cash re-interpreted it that way - true.
But this song was originally on the The Rising album written by a New Jersey boy in the aftermath of 9/11 while the wound was still fresh. The song puts you in the head of an American soldier heading into the desert to exact justice.
It took almost ten years, but we got the job done. I have not stopped listening to album version since OBL was killed. At full volume.
