Ok comes "Old Kinderhook" which was a nick name for President Martin Van Buren who was born in Kinderhook, NY. Kinderhook means "children's corner" in Dutch. During the 1840 elections they called him "OK" because it was easier to say "OK" than to say "Martin Van Buren." That's what made the word popular in the United States anyway.
