Sharia law controls every single aspect of your private and public life. Girls from the age of puberty can be married. Shoplifting is punishable by amputation. The movement has started with a global effort to support the UK national petition called One Law for All. The UK is in a similar position to that in which Canada found itself before 2005. In the UK, though, Sharia has already crept in and is being integrated into normal everyday legal systems under the initial guise of a viable arbitration mechanism. However, it must be stopped dead in its tracks right now. And be reassured, it is possible. It is not too late. Because of a similar petition and campaign supported globally by people all around the world, in 2005 Canada was able to remove this biased and unjust system of law and uphold equal and citizenship rights for all. A massive campaign is being organised in the UK to support this petition and drive this loathsome form of legalised inequality and prejudice from Britain too.

I just cannot believe that any atheist in his right mind would want religion to have legal powers sanctioned by government - especially such a bigoted and violent religion as Islam.

Law needs to be consistent. Why should a protestant go to jail for beating his wife, while a muslim only has to take an anger management course?

Truth is, no one can prove that any of the world's religion's are God given. But if some doctrine is a threat to human life, then that religion must be changed or stopped.

You said in an earlier post that you would not mind some Sharia in Canada to tend to certain things. I assumed nothing, you may not back them up per se, but you are enabling them which is just as bad. Sharia must not be allowed to gain any foothold in a Western society.
