it is funny because he was wearing a mask like the character from many movies, most notably, scream and it's sequels. This was quite unusual because people do not usually dress as movie characters, or wear masks in public. Because of this reason, the cashier found it to be somewhat unexpected that a person would, in fact, choose to dress in such a way. It was this surprise caused by the man in the mask that made this situation very humorous,& certainly not just the actions of a bored bogan
