Short action period piece set in the Scottish Highlands in the 1700's. The film focuses on two Jacobites' game of cat and mouse in the backdrop of a woodland area. Shot near the Battle Of Culloden.
@Catubrannos I think you are correct, wacking a small furry critter with a Brown Bess would result in very little to pick up, but in the circumstances the alternative of throwing a wild boar over his shoulder is really not on.
I think they did a grand job, an excellent living history promo video.
My only problem was the lack of blood. Firstly with the dead animal, secondly with the man who was stabbed, particularly as he was wearing a clean white shirt. I also wasn't convinced that a musket would be used to hunt such a small creature; a trap would have been used instead.
Most of the Jacobites were Catholic and the Stuarts were a catholic dynasty, unlike the protestant house of Hanover.
Many of the clans supported the Hanovers because they did not trust the catholics either, having fought a series of bloody battles to secure their own presbyterian religion.
Those protestant clans that joined the jacobites mainly did so because they hated the Campbells of Argyll. If Argyll had been jacobite those clans would probably have joined the English.
No, not long live the jacobites. They gave the english a reason to make a mess of scottish culture and language, just because the majority of jacobites were scottish. They werent even fighting for scottish freedom anyway, why they did it is beyond me. History is written by the victor
