i downloaded all the things you said and when i try to install it i get an error message saying:

Error 1904. Module C:\Program Files\FDUI\drare55.ocx failed to register. HRESULT -2147024770. Contact your support personnel.

Any idea what it is?

Please try this:

1. Run Command Prompt

2. Move to C:\Program Files\FDUI\

3. Input the commant "regsvr32 drare55.ocx" then enter

If you use Windows Vista, please deactivate UAC and reboot before input the command.

I got it to work sort of with "regsvr" now the issue I have now is that the cam just shows a black screen.

Sorry, I know some USB cameras doesn't work in my system. I have no idea about this.

Please try to update the newest usb camera driver, or Plese use other usb camera and PC.

My VAIO's built-in USB camera also doesn't work, and I couldn't fix it.

I use another PC and Logitech USB camera now.

i've got your same problem, i try to install OpenCV 1.0 like some people suggest but didn't work. Finally i found that on Windows 7 the file "ieshims.dll" is missing, i download it and copy under "c:\windows\system32", reboot and now the command regsvr32 work

Since the binary was compiled for a specific version of OpenCV, users need that exact OpenCV version (1.0) for this to work. If registration of the drare55.ocx fails, they probably have the wrong version of OpenCV.
