  • The drowing man must gather all his lies, manipulations, and cowardices,

He must carry this heavy burden away from the sewer to the tops.

He may cry to wash his heart, I shall console him, cut the rope of his lies,

I shall throw the heavy burden of his past, then I shall go on my way in peace,

Letting him go his own way, finally awake, clean and free.

  • Life made me cross the road of a man who was deeply asleep.

He did not know that he was drowing in the sewage.

I tried to wake him up, to give him a hand, to take him out of the sewer.

No one can help him for he is trapped in his lies and insecurity.

Only him can wake up and decide to follow Mendoza's path.

  • A scene from a movie I haven't seen for years that has never left me. Thank you so much for posting this!

  • The only scene in all of De Niro's movies in which he portrays a real man. Moving, beautiful, perfect. I watched it over and over again. Thanks for sharing.

Why can't movies have that kind of dimension any more? The boatloads of useless crap from Hollywood don't have a fraction of the worth of that one scene.

  • thank you very much for sharing =)
