  • @GBeret83 You posted that exact comment on another thread. Copying and pasting, are we? Very classy! Also, recently you stated that Stay Thirsty will be a "load to beat at the Classic", and praised his "powerful stride". How can ST be tough to beat at the Classic if he's part of the "weak" 3 yr old crop? Seems to me you don't know what's going on. Just because a single horse isn't dominating, it doesn't mean the crop is "weak". Wait till after the Classic, and think a little before you write.

  • @GBeret83 i was saying the same exact thing animal kingdom kentucky derby shackleford preakness ruler on ice travers stay thirsty i think animal kingdom was decent but couldve had a better jockey shackleford is garbage to me he barely won the preakness and not one horse in that race had a great stretch run and ruler on ice was a huge upset at the belmont and even the travers stay thirsty all different winners thats just the few races ive brought up like you said you know about the others

  • Tonight I was watching "Pursuit of the Cup" on HRTV, and I saw a very disturbing graphic!! There have been eleven G1 races run in 2011 for 3yr.old's, and there have been eleven different winners of those G1 races. Not one 3yr.old in 2011 has managed to win back to back G1 races. Which further bolsters my theory that 2011 really has produced the weakest crop of 3yr.old's that I can ever remember. And I'm turning 50 in Nov., and have followed racing since the days of Secretariat and Ruffian!!

  • sorry for the double post double post.

  • The race is the Travers Stakes at Saratoga race Course-The Travers is nicknamed the Mid-Summers Derby and sometimes also referred to as The 4th leg of the triple crown. It was first run before the Kentucky Derby even existed in the year 1864. The inaugural edition was won by a horse name Kentucky....or at least it says so in Wikipedia...I wasn't there to confirm.
