He killed himself to protect his family. He was a anti-nazi officer and he collaboreted with Staunfenberg in 1944. Even Hitler respected him after death.

I bet you would either see his books, or books about hime but always a photo of him.
He is the last Proper Chivalrous Soldier that his enemies earned him respect.

@joah45 They caught him. Rommel had every reason to want to kill Hitler like so many others did. Hitler would not give Rommel's troops the supplies needed for battle, and Rommel really disliked Hitler.

@Kammler03 actaully he wasnt a part of it per say. he never killed a jew or pows or innocent ppl. after hitler instructed him to do so, he didnt follow the order so he was killed
