Machamp makes his way through battles 1-170 in the Battle Hall.
I wanted to do this video for a few reasons. One is to illustrate just how broken the Mimic-Rage Glitch is. The second and most important reason though is that we all HATE the Battle Frontier ending our streaks with OHKO moves. Well, here we can have some revenge, and beat it at its own game, by destroying an entire Battle Frontier facility with its own favourite move!
OK, some info.......
This Machamp was bred in Emerald, and learnt his moves through the Mimic-Rage Glitch. This glitch allows your pokemon to legitimately learn all kinds of moves it normally can't. Of course this raises questions like "is it legit?". Even though it can be done without ever using any kind of external (or internal) cheating device, some people don't like pokemon obtained in this manner. Personally, I just like having a bit of fun with it, but wouldn't use pokemon with weird movesets against other people. For more information on this awesome glitch see my videos where I explain it in a two part guide:
Part 1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xX2SwDhUTek
Part 2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFEU9NjknRY
I also made a guide explaining how a 3rd generation Machop can end up with the No Guard ability upon evolution:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d60fzNlWuSo
Anyway, the basic idea here is to use Machamp's No Guard ability together with the move Sheer Cold. Sheer Cold always kills an opponent if it hits, but is very inaccurate. However, that's where No Guard comes in - it allows your moves (and your opponent's) to always hit. So that's the plan. Different opponents have different ways of disrupting the strategy, so I used a few different Machamps, with different movesets tailored to beat each opponent. All my Machamps had the same basic build:
SPIDER MAN
Shiny Machamp
Jolly / Focus Sash
IVs: 31 / 31 / 31 / 0 / 31 / 31
EVs: 172 Speed / 252 HP / 86 Def
Level 50 stats: 197 HP / 150 Atk / 111 Def / 63 Sp Atk / 105 Sp Def / 106 Spe
Here are the movesets:
1) Sheer Cold / Spore / Fake Out / Vacuum Wave
--------------- the main set
2) Sheer Cold / Spore / Gastro Acid / Vacuum Wave
--------------- used against pokes with Sturdy ability
3) Sheer Cold / Spore / Gastro Acid / Substitute
--------------- early (and slightly inferior) version of previous
4) Sheer Cold / Spore / Sleep Talk
--------------- used against ghosts (mainly for Haunter and Gengar)
5) Sheer Cold / Fake Out / Gastro Acid / Vacuum Wave
--------------- used in last round - fake out mainly for Scyther and Scizor
As you can see, I had just about every threat covered in one way or another, but there were still pokemon that could cause problems (with no real counter to flinch hax etc). Also, I didn't face the ghosts or bugs I was most worried about, although I would have beaten them because of the movesets. I probably don't need to say too much more about these.
Well, I will leave it at that. I hope you enjoy the video. It's all just a bit of fun, so don't bother posting and saying Sheer Cold Machamp is cheap - of course it is, and obviously it takes little skill to use it. But it sure is fun to beat the AI at its own cheap game!
