@WorldOfLove2 I couldn't have said it better myself. I stutter and have to live with it everyday. It's great to see people like you supporting us. <3

This reminds of something a colleague of Laurence Olivier once said. If Oliver had some physical difference when playing a character to his real self (e.g. shaved head, prosthetic nose, etc.) then he could completely loose himself in the part. But if he looked very much like his real self, he found it very difficult to believe he was the character. I guess it's physcology common to everyone.

I wonder if James Earl Jones got past his stuttering through acting - imagining he was someone else. There is a technique called Paradoxical Intention where you deliberately try to create the condition you don't want to experience and it doesn't occur. This works with anxiety conditions and insomnia. "I must not fall asleept!." "I must tremble with anxiety." etc.

i know that your comment is almost a month old, but i totally agree with you. James earl jones is such an amazing person.
People who stutter are my heros..they go through so much and work so hard just to say a few words. I just saw The King's Speech and i am grateful to the director of the movie because as far as i have seen...no one in movies or tv show what these people go through on a day to day basis. Some of the most famouse people have been stutterers and i never would have known.
