Joe Montana's last game as he takes on Dan Marino and the Miami Dolphins in an AFC Wild Card Playoff game, Dec. 31, 1994. Judge for yourself - every throw each QB makes is included.
@AllPro777 Clayton and Duper were good, but they were not great by any means, and they flamed out quickly. The best duo of all time? Like, really? Over Moss and Carter? Taylor and Rice? Harrison and Wayne? Montana had the luxury of working with the best WR of all time and with teams full of all pros and eventual HOFers. Marino's teams were, for the most part, shitty. Was he better than Montana? I don't know, but it sure as hell is closer than you might think.
@AllPro777 Yea I checked my brain, its still in there. Is yours? Winning a couple of Superbowls doesnt make a Quarterback the best of ALL TIME. its the records over time that does, and last time I checked Marino was the winningest quarterback in history holding more titles than any other quarterback during that time. Hell Eli manning just got a ring but he aint shit! Look who they played....so go see a doc my friend and get off your high horse.
The real truth is that Marino had control of the offense, and he wanted to throw a lot. Marino had top WR's since he had Duper and Clayton who were arguably the best WR duo of all time (statistically). They drafted backs, but Marino checked out of runs a lot. The Dolphins also had quite a few good defensive players, but I'll admit that their defense was never great during Marino's era.
Both GREAT QB's. I remember this game. The next week Miami choked @ San Diego having a 21-6 lead at halftime. Its a shame Marino didn't have help as was evident the next week when their defense was exposed. Why Shula couldn't find a top RB, WR or a top defensive player during the marino years COST them a SB.
@CSMSnake uno records are set to be broken. dos montana won two superbowls without jerry rice and john tailor. also took a mediocre team KC to the championship game when he was 80yrs old

Then you might want to check if your brain is still in there. Marino is one of the greatest of all time, but Montana is THEE greatest of all time.

@nctosc
At the time of this video, Marino had just had a 30 TD, 62% plus season which was his best in almost 10 years. He wasn't past his prime yet.

Catedra de juego impartieron Dan Marino y Joe Montana. A Marino solo le faltó ser campeón para ser el más grande y ese titulo lo tiene Montana.
