The Edinets Lautarii brass musicians play a "Hangu" (also a well known Jewish dance form known as 'honga' as well as deriving from the turkish 'londra' musical form) as part of the Other Europeans Project field trip to Edinets, Republic of Moldova, nov. 23, 2008. Alan Bern brought a group of Jewish music researchers and klezmer musicians to meet with Moldovan Lautarii through the help of Marin and Diana Bunea (violinist and Ethnomusicologist, repectively.) The lautar tradition of northern Moldova shares deep roots with Klezmer music, and the local lautar even refer to themselves as "klezmeras."
