I played a show with Little David, Jim Stafford and Charlie Rich in Columbia S.C. back in the early 70's. He still looks the same, except the facial hair is there now, but most importantly, he SOUNDS the same. After his intro, he burst out on the stage and said, "You're lookin' at 200 pounds of pure love", and after the crowd get quiet, he added, "and 200 pounds of pure lard". GREAT entertainer...Bless you David, and have a bowl of butterbeans for me.

I got into Little David Wilkins when i was a 14 year old country DJ back in 1975..."Butterbeans" was the first Little David Wilkins song i ever played on the radio...I soon found out that he was a very talented musicians...and now know that his music has stood the test of time...when many of his contemporaries have been forgotten...
