famileri- are you saying that an entire generation who have been squeezed out of viably entering the property due to the greed of investors are "losers"? Well... i hope when the bubble bursts you lose your shirt, you selfish, narrow minded dick.

Australia needs more migrants we need to increase the population so as property prices increase.. The govt needs to stop public housing so the losers need to rent houses from investors. The govt needs to remove capital gains tax so more investors can provide rental properties to those losers who are unable to buy their own

The Sunshine coast and the Gold coast have already been hit hard. Bring on the bubble I say.

The reason all those papers said there was not a bubble is because realestate advertisements often make up a large portion of a papers revenue.

@THEDROPPEDSOCK Here in Australia we also have the Government as an interested party to keep the bubble going so they get increased tax revenue, hence why the drop interest rates whenever they worry about the housing market reflecting true value.

@alstar70 Very interesting article mate! What percentage drops do you think we could expect over the next couple of years ? Could it be as bad as some of Americas drops ?

@THEDROPPEDSOCK I don't think it will be as bad because our Reserve Bank as the ability to drop interest rates, whereas the US was already at 0% and couldn't stop the burst. Our reserve bank can allow a slower deflation as this time - but all the can change if the inflation monkey escapes and the reserve bank has to lift interest rates to say 15% then all bets are off.

Yes I noticed that when I visited. I think relying on the tourist industry they have been the first to feel the pain.
