@871yt: So, you're telling me your from Italy, right?

Isn't it essential that we stop the growth of humanity though? We are reaching the limits of the number of people this planet can sustain very rapidly, in fact we cannot even provide a decent standard of living for all of the people living right now. If this argument is true and the problem of having too big a human population is true then surely we have a paradox whereby we need to raise birth rates as well as lowering them? It's an interesting dilema.

@VictorLepanto What kind of horseshit is this?..as if we live in a fvcking ant colony.
The England of Shakespeare had 9 million people..it was an age of incredible
imagination and cultural vitality.
The Italy of Michelangelo had 5 million people..is the Italy of today 110 million people
25x more intelligent...vital, and meaningful..or is it a putrifying mass of meaningless morons
with nothing to say?

This 2.1 survival or replacement level of reproduction is fallacy. Things either grow or they whither & die. We need a growing population to have a vital culture & economy. An economy & a culture in general exists on the air, between the people who participate in it. The more people, the greater the potential for interconnection, new understanding & insight. We are destroying the collective consciousness of the human race.

this is not true
The replacement figure is not 2.1. People live for two fertility cycles.

@TheTubeTimeMaster1
But they don't reproduce for two cycles.
