This video shows my second working jam jar jet. to extend the duration i put the whole jar in another jar. the second jar has a bigger hole in the lid, so it does not have an effect on the first jar. its just to press the first jar under water.
the first jars lid has a drilled hole of 9,5 mm which i enlarged with a punch to about 11 mm, so the edge of the hole is leaning inside the jar. im not shure if this realy maters, but i think my jets with such holes work better.
the water in the second jar has to be exactly the quantity that the first jar is completly under water, but there must not flow water inside the first jar!
this provides best cooling for long runs before the jar breakes.
in the video the jar breakes early, because i let it run several times before shooting this video. so i took an new one. before it ran very long until the ethanol was empty.
so, thats all about this video. have fun building your own jam jar jet! ;-)

  • Mine just "whoooshes" all at once. I am using rubbing alcohol because I can't get my hands on anything else at the moment. 5in jar w 3in diameter. smaller or larger hole for this setup?

  • Love that blue flame at night I use a tin can for my pulse jet because glass breaking not safe but since you have it in a jar surrounded with water its MUCH safer. Awesome vid though thanks for uploading.

  • @DonneGT~ haha... bro, you're gonna need to setup up a radiator and water pump! XD
