PullRite SuperGlide 5th Wheel Hitch for Short Bed Trucks as seen on the RV Today TV Show. The only real solution, an automatic sliding hitch for short bed trucks.
I don't have one of these hitches. The dually I bought is a long box. The drawbacks I was referring to are those of a short box. Not as much room to carry stuff in the bed, the ride might not be quite as smooth, and how easy it is to touch the back of the cab to your trailer. I believe you had the misfortune to experience the touch.
If I bought a single rear wheel truck, I would buy a short box. I like the way they look. In a dually I will probably get another long bed.
@3619Country Just curious on what draw backs did you find with your PullRite Superglide. I just bought one and want to beware of what to look out for.
I was one of those guys that touched his trailer to the back cab of his truck (2006 Dodge 2500 Mega-cab) what a nightmare!! I just purchased a Superglide 18K and it works like a champ!! Now with the new design Pull-rite has incorporated there is no need for the "Slip Plat" graphite spray just a little bit of WD-40 or some 3 in1 oil so the "way tubes" don't rust while not in use. I recommend this to anyone with a short-bed truck !!!
Since short beds are becoming more and more popular in 3/4 ton and ton trucks, this is a good product. It might sound kind of costly, but its a lot cheaper than damage to your truck or trailer.
A short box is easier to get in tight spots, but it does have its drawbacks.
@d5onald2 i dont think so but if u get an air ride king pin box. thatle do da trick
