  • I live in Appalachia, and it is nothing like this in real life. Although the music like in this video really is popular there

  • music to make a pig squeal by.

  • @chisaoboy

This is a shortened version, it's missing the part where Bobby (the fat guy) says to Ed (the guy with the pipe) "talk about genetic deficiencies, isn't it pitiful?" or something to that effect. The hick asks them "who's picking the banjo here?" to point out that the kid is a talented banjo player regardless.

  • Does anyone know why the hick guy comes up and asks, "Who's pickin' the banjo here?" where he can simply look and see who's doing it? And, why don't the 2 guys answer him? And why does that hick guy look annoyed about the whole thing?

  • @johnnybev99 haha you're right, it turned out that kid could play the banjo but not well enough, so they shot it with someone elses arms coming around his body which i thought was hysterical lmao no special effects magic there !!!

  • @mcelrath1978 I dont know why somebody spammed your comment, sorry about that, i think i meant to say tennessee (which is where I am from) they filmed almost all of it where you are talking about/ NC/GA border but some was filmed in GA and some around TN/GA border. SORRY !!!!! hahaaa you got me :D

  • Their poor but happy. Only in America

  • Thanks for the vid, always great to hear this.

@ThePaleBunnyPres, interestingly the actor with the banjo is named Billy Redden, but the guy sitting behind him - whose arms are actually playing the banjo - is the famous musician Eric Weissberg. Who knows, it might come up on a pub quiz...

  • @ThePaleBunnyPreserve I Believe ! Aint can't no body act THAT Good No How ! No costume or makeup man can do that good either. No choreographer on earth can teach the appalachian tango and Oh that hillbilly smile-

  • @mand1sh3p Dude all the country folk in that scene are real locals from where they filmed this movie at the Virginia Georgia border hahahahahahaaaaa including that kid playing the banjo !!
