Why does the BBC do so much cooler stuff than any American TV channel? They do Jane Austen adaptations, and versions of Charles Dickens, and Tv mini series based on other amazing literature.

@MrRongrant Yeah, what the heck happened to Bravo?! They did Queer Eye, which was a good show, but it changed their whole dynamic, and now they never do any classic stuff anymore. Isn't that the channel that has all those stupid crap "Real Housewives of [insert city name here]"? I hate those! I wish they hadn't whored themselves out the way they did :-/

@BlushingRoses ..I agree w/you totally..and yours is an opinion I've been voicing for years...at least we do get some of their programing from PBS. A&E and Bravo used to offer some great British productions but now those are few and far between. I remember seeing this musical for a couple of years in the late '70s...unfortunately before we had VHS capabilities. Wish there were a DVR of this musical available.

But don't forget: American networks like NBC air excellent miniseries/TV Movies like the remake of Carrie and Secrets of the Mountain. ...yay? Darn.
