MBTR Rule! Flo and Eddie helped here.
Just isn't any better music that captures the pre-punk era better.
Where the hell is obscene Steve Clean when I fucking need him????????

I know my view is shared by at least a stadium full of people who saw T-Rex in Iowa, when he came there. I am in Kansas now, but then I was in Iowa. We were...wait a minute, thsi is good, but not exactly the T-Rex we fell in love with. He had Gloria in tow on backing vocals and another girl too. He opened for 3 Dog Night, OMG, not a good matchup at all. Much more later...

Awesome. The baddest band on the planet.
I think Marc Bolan let his negative USA tours effect his judgement of what he would have been capable of. There are many recording artist who do not impact the USA charts at first, then later on something happens. If you know music, you can think of examples. But Marc was a legit "superstar" in the UK, and he was not patient enough. Plus, his "act" and band lineup was altered just enough that he was not presenting exactly what originally made him HUGE in the UK.

@DAVWAVE It's great to hear the viewpoint from an American fan. I agree that Marc was impatient. Time has proven this with the number of fans of the classic T.Rex recordings he now has in the USA. American culture was such a huge influence on his writing both musically and lyrically. The period when he tried to develop a soul sound to T.Rex music was, in my opinion, the low point in his career.
