I think this song can be interpreted as a guy is haunted by the world around him, left with scars of pain and horrific memories, and he thinks he's better off alone, without investing emotionally to anyone else. You could think of the lyrics as a shouting conversation, that a girl is trying to "save" him, and make him "human" again, going back and forth between the two. However, the guy resists and eventually starts a monologue about how the world is so fucked up, and leaves the girl behind.

@onelastorphan huh.. never thought of it that way. i always thought it was about guy trying to get a girl away from hanging around the people that ruined his life before they can ruin hers too, or worse, make her like them. either way i love the quote by Alex Varkatzas, the singer from atreyu, saying that the great thing about music is that every listener can interpret a song's lyrics in a different way, and there is never a wrong answer. its about the personal message you get
