My mistake. I read both of the stories and screwed them up. This is the story of a woman that thought her husband died and goes through her reactions. After a while she comes to accept his death and figures that this is her chance for freedom and to be her own woman. Unfortunately, she was misinformed and finds that her husband was actually alive. Great story. I was thinking of "The Storm" by the same author.
