ZAUM:

Chris Pitman - voice, guitar, electronics
Vince DeFranco - guitar
Marco Fox - bass
Danny Carey - drums

Other associates - Paul D'Amour, Terry Dawson

ZAUM was a progressive/rock/electronica project by Danny (TOOL drummer) and some TOOL associates. It was active during mid '90s. They opened for TOOL in 1995. One of the best TOOL-related bands. Merkaba is a completely different song than Merkaba on TOOL's Salival.

ZAUM tracks are avalible for download:

  • lol sorry to post this in here again but on wiki it says:"Zaum had some demos available a few years ago through Tool's management, Larrikin. Lately the members Marco Fox, Danny Carey, and Mother Goose have been too busy to put something out, but are hoping to go through over twenty hours of material to put something together." quote from tool website.

Any chance we'l see something new from ZAUM??

    (sorry for bad english:D)

  • @C0k3d lately on the TOOL website a photo was posted. It showed danny in front of some ENORMOUS vinage keyboard/sythesiser contraption. it was like 2 meters high. and the description said that danny and chris pitman are working on something. no more details. i have no idea if this will concer ZAUM or not, but i think there's a chance that watherver they'll be doing, it will have something from the ZAUM project in it. but for the ZAUM itself - i dont think they'll reunite or sth like this.

  • @w26895 IMO too much time has passed (15 years) to come back to that. it would be awesome if they released sth, but i think there's a minimal chance for that. however, fath no more reunited for some shows, so did smashing pumpkins and RATM. so miracles happen :)

  • But....on the wikipedia page the songs are suposed to be MUCH longer..

    Could you explain...pls :)

  • @C0k3d hmm... you're right, on wikipedia they're longer. my guess would be that wikipedia is wrong, because i heard those songs from a few different sources and the were always as long as my uploads. sounded exactly the same. can't be sure though. maybe there's a source existing somewhere which has different versions of those tracks. but my guess would be that the person who wrote the article on wikipedia either made a mistake.

  • @C0k3d sometimes when u put the same mp3 on different computers or players you'll get different lenght of the track. however, it shouldn't be such a big difference. i dunno. i think my uploads are the correct versions.

  • Really neat towards the end.

    Very pink-floyd-esque.

Thanks for the upload and pics.

  • You, sir...have Wisdom. 'Gig' does have that about it's latter half. Sorry for the flippant demeanor on my part.

  • @niginit great gig in the sky is one of my favorite songs and ive always wanted to cover the two songs and combine them. you know " Welcome to the new merkaba! Oh woah wa oh!! ect."

  • The Apparatus is my fave tune.

  • @w26895 Yeah i think it's probably a mistake....on wikipedia Merkaba has 9:36 , maybe he confused it with the Merkaba that Tool made....i dk about the rest of them.

    hm...
