@HuevosLibertad It's a combination of the Mellotron and Tony's ARP Pro Soloist set on "vibrate" that makes the ending so sublime and in a sense..........Dreamy.

@MrNotNiceGuy It sounds like it's Tony whose backing vocal sticks out like a sore thumb. Could be wrong though. I'm sure on other versions Tony & Mike blend in better, but this one puts Tony's voice a bit too upfront.

@leonbandit Assuming you're terminology is sound and you really do mean the "real" sound of Genesis has only been affected by Phil's voice, than you are hereby nullifying Peter Gabriel altogether. Genesis started out as a "real" band before Collins. Genesis still was a "real" band after Gabriel. They're sound may have shifted because that is the nature of most Progressive rock bands. Although I personally think they had a more experimantal and better sound before Collins doesn't make them "fake"

What a phantasmagorical song. The eerie Mellotron solo is so hauntingly unique and sublime, definitely one of my favourite Genesis songs.

Is that Tony or Mike singing backup? Throws the whole song off IMO

I think "A trick of the tail" is the best album of GENESIS and "entangled" it's best song. I've never understood people who compare Phil Collins all the time with Peter Gabriel. Gabriel may be a good musician, too. And he is a good solo artist. But the real sound of GENESIS has only been affected by Phil's voice.

Now bring on the Springstein, Ian Dury, Elton John, David Bowie and SteveHarley!

Well, I don't want to nullify Peter Gabriels tribute to Genesis' style and music. I just wanted to admit, that Collins' era in my eyes and ears is that what made the typical Genesis sound distinctive. And Phil's voice and drums are two of the major aspects for that. Even if the music became less and less progressive in the later years, Collins, Banks and Rutherford, in my opinion, are the "real" Genesis.
