@AstroTrain100 a MOBOTIX camera can contact you by phone (land or cell) if someone rings the door bell, if a light goes on etc, you can then respond by viewing the images remotely. There is a company in Europe that rents holiday homes, they use MOBOTIX cameras for this purpose. When the holiday makers press the door bell of the holiday home, this alerts the company who then calls them on their cell phone, and advises where the keys are hidden! All this without a PC or software onsite.
Is it possible to connect to the camera through the internet? Say I have my camera set up in my summer home in Vancouver, could I access it through the internet in my home in Edmonton.
You know to keep and eye on things while I'm not there.
@frankie2ubabe great question, thanks for asking. The L Key function changes the IP address to its factory default, however it does not change the username and password. This is why it is important to always change the camera's default username and password during the installation process. Which is best practice with any IP device.
